前陣子在書局中無意間翻到了蔡智恆《回眸》這本書  

於是認識了這首西洋老歌

其實裡頭說了許許多多的曲子

但唯獨對這首最有印象

女主角說道：「對Joan Baez而言，《Diamonds and Rust》是活的，所以隨著時光的改變，歌詞裡的時光也會跟著改變。」

於是讓我有了想聽的衝動

Joan Baez 的嗓音真的很美

這首曲子的現場

從ten years ago 唱到了forty years ago

滿滿的是她對於Bob Dylon 的愛情

深深的思念及愛戀

同時卻也是滿懷惆悵

這首曲子和詞都很完美...

「你要從歌詞裡去體會……歌詞有些長而且晦澀，畢竟描寫的是Joan Baez 的心境。你想想，當一個人把自己比喻成鐵鏽，卻把內心深愛的人比喻成鑽石，這是什麼樣的心境？」

這是《回眸》當中，女主角給男主角的一段話。

不過，Joan Baez 對於自己的這首曲子是這麼說的：「Time turns ugly charcoal into diamonds and shiny metal into rust.(時間會將醜陋的煤礦變成鑽石，也會讓閃亮的鋼鐵蒙銹)」
